At your service. Meet the Ten Degrees team

At Ten Degrees, we’re elevating the rental experience, with a professional on-site team here for you 24/7. When you enter our apartments in Croydon, you’ll always be greeted with a warm welcome from our front of house associates. From helping with your dry cleaning to providing parcel collection services, they’re on hand to support residents.

We meet the people who keep Ten Degrees running like clockwork.

Customer Service Associate Maria, has a passion for nature and customer service

As a leasing associate at Ten Degrees, Maria is responsible for ensuring the residents’ journey into their new home is a smooth one. She said: “I carry out their first apartment viewings, start their application and referencing process and complete all their legal documentation needed prior to move-in day. I then provide customer support and service to make sure all their needs are met and they’re happy living with us.

“We do our best to create a community – living at Ten Degrees isn’t like living in any other building in Croydon. From the moment someone moves in, they get a full induction; we show them the building amenities and introduce them to not just the team, but other residents so everybody knows their neighbours.”

For Maria, who worked in theatre hospitality prior to starting at Ten Degrees, customer satisfaction is a way of life. And she said her passion for rock climbing and hiking makes her better at her job. “Going out in nature and spending six or seven hours hiking calms you down, improves the way you think and how you communicate with people, and you appreciate people more when you have spent a whole day out in the wild. No matter how hard the climb and how high the mountain, I enjoy the challenge every single time.”

Leasing Manager Tim, who grew up in Miami, brings true American hospitality to Ten Degrees

“It’s my job to change people’s lives. We want our residents to stay with us long term, so attention to detail is very important. In the US your service must be A1, so bringing the American way to what we do here and seeing the look on our residents’ faces always feels great.”

Tim loves seeing the Ten Degrees community grow. “The staff and residents are like a family – we have a real sense of community – it makes coming to work a joy. In the US, this type of community is common, but it’s still a relatively new concept in the UK. We work hard to organise events where people can get to know each other. At Halloween we held a party where we turned the fitness studio into a club and the games room into a pumpkin carving area for the kids.”

And Tim can’t believe how much he’s learning every day. “I’m constantly finding new, better ways of doing things to improve the living experience for our residents.”

When Tim isn’t working, he enjoys playing 5-aside football with Ten Degrees residents and boxing. “When I was younger my uncle was a boxing trainer,” he said. “It saved me from being one of those crazy kids and taught me discipline in how to direct my anger into something positive. I still love going to matches and sparring.”

Camilla, Customer Service Associate, loves getting to know the residents at Ten Degrees

While Camilla’s role involves managing apartment viewings, rental agreements, and other vital paperwork, she said the best thing about working at Ten Degrees is the relationships she can build with residents. “Every day is different – we always have new challenges to face, and I love the variety. Our work ranges from organising a temporary parking space or making move-in day run as smoothly as possible, to the more personal touches such as remembering a birthday or job interview or asking how a date went. Our residents are not just shapes moving around a building, we’re a small family. They have a WhatsApp group and help each other out by watering their neighbours’ plants or walking their dogs. It’s a special place.”

Before the pandemic, Camilla loved to travel, noting Australia, Brazil and Russia as some of her more memorable trips. She said: “Next year, I hope to spend some time with my family in Italy and then I have Japan, Iceland and Paris on my bucket list.”
